Can I change an answer to a question?
No.
Can someone see my answers?
Nope. Even if someone could, nobody knows who you are.
Do you really expect me to answer a question like that?
Of course! this site is completely anonymous, and no one cares! a single person's responses are useless, we're always looking at the whole batch. Please answer all the questions you can, truthfully. If a question offends you, flag it. complain about it.
How can I help?
Well, add questions - and answer them.

How can I see the results of my questions?
Go to My Questions. You can see statistics of all the answers and see if people have chosen to never answer your question.
How can I see the results of the questions?
Currently, you can only see the results of questions that you wrote. We're not sure yet what we want to do with all the data, but soon you'll be able to peruse the data and look for useful corellations.
How do I add a question for only women or only men?
Each question can have several pre-requisites, such as gender. Currently only a moderator can set these, and we do that when w review your question.
How do I add a question?
It's easy! Go to the add a question page, and you'll see a box to type in your question, then you tell us what kind of question it is [yes/no, multiple choice, etc] and then you can even set up the choices!
How do i know this is anonymous?
The only personally identifiable things you could ever type into pages on this website is your username (which you can chage at any time), and your email (which is optional, and you can easily set up an anonymous email through yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc.).
If you feel a question is too personal, skip it, or click 'never' in the upper-right corner of that question.
If you feel your anonymity has been compromised, email the admin [at] OurQuiz [dot] com and your entire records can be erased.
How do I know what age minimum to use when adding a question?
Well, 18 is the default. That's because we don't want children exposed to some of the nasty questions. If you are sure that your question isn't of a mature nature, and you are sure that answers that people add to your multiple choices won't be of a mature nature, go ahead and set it below 18.
Perhaps you want only senior citizens to see your question; set the minimum to 65.
How does this solve problems?
Well, Let's pretend you are overly shy. So shy that it gets in the way of your job, or meeting the right people. So you add a simple question: "Are you shy?" Later on, we see that 20% of people say they are shy. Now we start to look at the other data, and see what kind of things or events might be associated with shy people.
Of course there's a million reasons why a person is shy. But what if we saw that of all the people that said they were shy, 60% of them had a teacher that gave them a nickname? The implications is that if teachers refrained from doing that, fewer people would be debilitatingly shy.
But wait, there's more! What if we found something that nobody would ever have thought of? What if we found out that a lot of shy people … um, wore red, uh… mittens when they really wanted blue?
The scale of this survey is intended to encompass all these possibilties, and maybe we'll discover something surprising that could help lessen or defeat depression, addiction, abuse, war, or maybe just that runny nose someone has always had.
this took you a long time to do huh?
i have been working on this site since april of 2006. but only on weekends. and i am still working on it.
What happens if I don't answer a question, but hit 'submit?'
Unanswered questions are skipped. They will come up again later. If you can't revert your answer to a blank, click the 'skip' box to the right of the question. If you never want to be asked that question, click the 'never' box.
What if I don't agree with any of the answers, and there's no "add one" option?
Well, the questions here weren't written by geniuses. so not all of them have every possible answer, and the writer may not have considered ygour point of view. we don't want to interfere with everybody's questions, so in most cases, a question is approved without edits.
If you realluy can't find an answer that suits you better than others, feel free to click the little 'never' box. you'll never see the question again, and the author will know that x number of people are refusing the question. it can be retracted, or re-written.
What should I ask?
Good question. Well, there's two major reasons that people add questions to our database;
1. To make sure that something they are interested in is covered. For example, you might want to make sure we have questions about cars, or imported dutch candies, or something from your childhood.
2. To solve a problem. Some people put in a question about a problem they have. You could just add, "Do you get angry when you see someone clipping their nails in public?" and then later on, we could look at all the people who have this anger in common, and see what else they have in common. You might realise that your disgust is brought on by some old family memory, revealed by another question on the list. That might help you understand it, get over it, or explain it.
What's the point?
The point of OurQuiz.com is to get thousands of questions written by everyday, average people. and to get those thousands of questions answered, thousands of times. Most surveys are done by corporations to find out whether you like their product in blue or orange. This is suposed to find out answers to real problems, about depression, or addiction, or whatever.
When can i stop? When does it end?
You can stop at any time! just walk away! it will always show you more questions, but click any of the other links at any time. however, it never ends. it is possible to go through all the questions, but people are always adding more!
Why am I being asked the same question over and over?
Three possible reasons:
1. Some questions just seem similar.
2. If you choose to add an item to a list for your answer, your suggestion has to be approved my the moderators. if it is not in the spirit of the question, it will be rejected, and the question will come up for you again.
3. A bug. If you think you've found a bug, please report it to admin [at] OurQuiz [dot] com. Thanks!
Why am i being asked weird questions about my gender?
If you didn't tell us your gender when you signed up, we'll ask you questions of both genders. You can specify your gender at any time by adjusting your settings.
If you wish there was another option, email the moderators (moderator at ourquiz.com) and let them know! We realize that not every demographic fits into every label.
Why are some of the questions like trivia?
Good question. My guess is that people want to be able to make correlations about education and pop culture, maybe like... "Look how many people consider themselves to be good listeners, and also know the constellations!" You might think trivia-like questions don't belong, but it is the variety and diversity of this system that is it's strength. Remember, the question was written by someone like you.
Why can I add only one item to a list?
Well, if everybody could add anything they wanted, the lists could get very long. There is a limit to the number of options a question has, so we need to keep the suggestions to a minimum. If you have more than one thing to add to a list, undoubtedly, someone else also would add one of the items. So please choose the one option that is most important to you.
Why can i change my username?
This is for your anonymity. If you signed up with a username that you use elsewhere, that might affect the honesty of your answers. Feel free to change it at any time to something no one will recognize.
Why can't I answer all the questions?
Some of the questions will only be asked of men, or women, and some will only be asked of mothers, or veterans, or children.
Why do I keep seeing the same questions over and over?
two reasons:
1. you are suggesting something that cannot be approved. Try suggesting something that is more 'in line' with the other options or the spirit of the questions. Also, don't use anybody's name, and don't use something unique to you. After you type it, ask yourself, am i adding something to this list that someone else might choose?
2. it's a bug. i'm working on it.
